Hypochondriac

Hypochondriac is a theatrical work for two performers, live electronics, and video, created in collaboration with the Chicago-based intermedia percussion ensemble Beyond This Point. The piece unfolds as a staged examination in which a “patient” gradually transforms from an inanimate object to an obedient machine and ultimately to a sentient being seeking to understand its own past. The work explores the cultural anxieties surrounding artificial intelligence, presenting it as both a product and a mirror that reflects our fears, projections, and desire for control.
