On 3/12, Ensemble Vortex premiered "Dark Ethnography" for 4 Modified MIDI Flashlights, Cello, and Electronics in Geneva, Switzerland. In the piece, battery controlled flashlights double as MIDI controllers, processing and triggering sounds, as well as creating a bond between light, sound, and physical gesture.
